Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, and Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Discuss Ways to Strengthen Cooperation with Mauritania’s Minister of Energy and Petroleum

On Sunday, 15 February 2026, both the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal, received the Minister of Energy and Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, who is on an official visit to Algeria. He was accompanied by a high-level delegation including officials from Mauritania’s major energy institutions, such as the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company (SMH), Mauritanian Electricity Company (SOMELEC), and Mauritanian Refining Company (SOMIR), alongside several ministry officials.

In implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at accelerating the pace of completion of a number of structuring projects, a joint coordination meeting was chaired on 03 February 2026 by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, and the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Dr. Mourad Adjal.
